Pain Specialists of Greater Chicago

Dr. Scott Glaser, founder of Pain Specialists of Greater Chicago, has spent over two decades providing the highest level of care for patients suffering persistent pain. He works ceaselessly to position his practice as the first option for individuals whose recovery is not resolving normally after minor or major injuries. His practice is built upon the awareness of the universal desire to have symptoms evaluated and treated as quickly as possible, fostering an office culture that prizes maximizing patient access.

He utilizes remarkable advances in Interventional Pain Management to treat conditions through highly targeted, minimally invasive procedures. His goal is identifying and addressing the source of pain to improve quality of life, avoiding higher-risk treatments like surgery or opioids. Dr. Glaser’s background is rooted in academic excellence, studying at Notre Dame and Indiana University before training at Northwestern University. Starting pain clinics in Michigan and Hinsdale Hospital inspired him to pursue continual education, allowing him to offer cutting-edge treatments like Intracept and Minuteman procedures.

Beyond clinical work, Dr. Glaser is a tireless advocate. Patients describe him as a warrior for fighting insurance companies to ensure access to advanced care. His influence extends nationally, where he has served as a director for the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians and lobbied for the NASPER bill. This legislation created a national framework for prescription drug monitoring, helping doctors ensure patient safety while protecting access to opioids for those who legitimately suffer from chronic pain.

His commitment to medicine has a global reach through mission work with Friends of Hospitale Evangelico, helping secure essential medical equipment for care abroad. He also mentored and trained Dr. Xenia Castillo, who was then accepted into a prestigious pain management fellowship. This broad perspective informs the compassionate care he provides in the Chicago area. Whether educating other physicians or treating patients, Dr. Glaser stays focused on using the best technology to find and treat the root cause of pain, ensuring patients feel heard and understood.
