Doherty, Ghostlight’s artistic director, said, “We are so excited to be in downtown Downers, and the welcome from the community has been incredible… So many of the kids never want to leave and just love hanging out, which is one of the reasons we built this new space.

We wanted to create a second home where kids could feel safe and loved and welcomed, and seeing that come to fruition is just mind-blowing.” Bahaveolos, Ghostlight’s music director, added,

“I think it’s important to note that Ghostlight is a queer- and woman-owned business. I love the vibrancy we get to share in the Downers Grove community, and it was great to see so many students (both current and past), family, and friends come together to open up our new space.”
