The Purple Pig

One of Chicago’s most celebrated restaurants has found a second home in Oak Brook. The Purple Pig, the James Beard Award-winning restaurant known for its Mediterranean-inspired menu and shareable plates, recently opened at Oakbrook Center, bringing one of the city’s most recognized dining destinations to the western suburbs.

Led by Chef and Partner Tony Mantuano, The Purple Pig has built its reputation on bold flavors, seasonal ingredients, and dishes designed to bring people together around the table. “We’re excited for our new location in Oak Brook for many reasons,” says Mantuano. “We’re bringing a Chicago classic that has been thrilling locals and visitors alike on Michigan Avenue for 17 years. This new space has live-fire cooking, a retail market and private event space, too.”

The menu, which changes daily, highlights longtime favorites from the Chicago restaurant, including the signature crispy fried pig ears and whipped feta. First-time guests may want to try the Potato Gnocchi with Wild Boar Ragu, Roasted Carrots with Brown Butter Vinaigrette and Honey Goat Cheese, or Chicken Thigh Kebabs served with fried smashed potatoes and house-made tzatziki.

The spacious Oak Brook restaurant pairs The Purple Pig’s signature menu with a sleek interior, private dining spaces, and an outdoor seasonal patio now open for guests. “We have a beautiful private event space and a large bar for gathering that seems to be a rarity in the western suburbs,” says Mantuano. “Our outdoor patio will give our guests yet another reason to visit and enjoy The Purple Pig Oak Brook.”

The Oak Brook location expands beyond the traditional restaurant experience. In addition to lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch service, guests can explore the Marketplace, which offers Italian coffee drinks, grab-and-go pastries, artisan gelato, and a curated selection of private-label products, including olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and pasta.

From morning coffee to weekend brunch and dinner with friends, guests can now enjoy the restaurant that earned a loyal following on Michigan Avenue, closer to home.
